August 11, 2007 at 9:07 AM2102

What happens if you try to capture with hidden camera hackers admitting to crimes? What happens if you try this at DefCon? Nothing good I guess... Here is a video of Michelle Medigan from NBC News attempted to use a hidden camera at DefCon.

Here and here is complete story... :)

Today is the last time I used Nero

August 3, 2007 at 1:26 PM2102

I was Nero user for a long time. Today I tried Nero 7 and uninstall it almost immediately. Why? OK I deselected everything except Nero Burning Rom. Everything went fine except it takes ages to install. Next annoying thing was when I opened Internet Explorer. WTF? Nero installed Ask Toolbar although I deselected everything except Nero Burning Rom and during setup there was no prompt that it will install Ask Toolbar. For me this is for sure NOT acceptable.

One more funny thing from Nero website:

4. Why is the Ask Toolbar offered by default?

Nero is sure that its users will enjoy and benefit from such a great value-added bonus. The Ask Toolbar makes searching the web easier and even includes links to Nero’s web pages, which always have useful information and tutorials for Nero users.

Yea right. Nero is for sure as hole for thinking that. The bottom line was that I uninstalled this crappy software. I will give a try to some free alternatives. I only need it occasionally for Audio CD or Image burning. Data burning is OK under Windows Vista.

David Vidmar published a great post about free CD/DVD burning alternatives.

Home sweet home :)

June 15, 2007 at 11:01 AM2102

I`m back in Europe. I really had a great time in States. Microsoft Tech-Ed 2007 was great with some great presentations.

Tech-Ed Party was cool to in Universals Studios Park  with all rail coasters and Jurassic Park stuff. [<:o)]

Beside Tech-Ed I went to near Kennedy Space Center to Space Shuttle Launch. It`s a must see if you are going to Florida on launch date. [<:o)]

Kennedy Space Center is also great attraction. You can see NASA evolving trough years, get inside Space Shuttle Explorer, see Apollo rocket, Space Shuttle Engine, Moon RV and a lot more!

You can see the rest of pictures here.

Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1

February 15, 2007 at 6:22 PM2102
Exchange 2007 Jim McBee writes: "I came across this on Josh Maher's blog. Danilo Bordini of Microsoft Brasil has posted some early plans for Exchange 2007 Service Pack 1. Keep in mind that these are "plans" and may not reflect reality. The availability is "sometime after Longhorn" releases. So, don't hold your breath. Here are some high-points, at least based on what I could read and get translated from Portuguese."

  • S/MIME controls for Outlook Web Access
  • Personal distribution lists via OWA
  • Outlook Web Access monthly calendar view
  • Custom fields visible in the OWA address book
  • Rules wizard for OWA
  • Move-Mailbox cmdlet will import/export from a PST file!
  • Bulk mailbox operations (I'm assuming this means creation)
  • Public folder management from GUI
  • POP3/IMAP4 configuration management from GUI
  • IPv6 support
  • Support for Longhorn server
  • Standby continuous replication (SCR)
  • Log shipping on private networks
  • Information Rights Management (WRMS integration was pulled from E2K7 right before RTM)
  • Improvements in geographic CCR clusters
  • Improved VOIP security
